CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Children in Church
Children are an important part of all of our worship, and we encourage you to bring your children with you to any of our Sunday liturgies. There are special children’s pamphlets in the back of the church, along with crayons and coloring sheets if your kids would like to participate in worship that way. We encourage you to choose pews towards the front of the church so that children can see and feel like an integral part of the service. And if
your children make a little noise, great! The sound of children in worship is one of the happiest sounds there is, and we are glad to hear it.
Children are always welcome at Atonement. Our youngest disciples are an important part of our church family, and we are enriched by their presence whenever we gather.
At Atonement, we know that families come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they have a mommy and a daddy, sometimes they have just a mommy or just a daddy, sometimes they have two mommies or two daddies. Whatever the shape and size of your family, please know that you are welcome to be a part of ours. Atonement families regularly get together outside of Sunday morning worship and formation for service projects, learning opportunities, trips, and family fun.
Nursery Care
The Atonement nursery is open each Sunday from 9-12:30. It is staffed by two professional nursery caregivers who have undergone specific Safe Church training for their work. The nursery is a nut-free zone, and it is kept clean and safe for all of our children.
Nursing mothers are invited to feed their infants wherever they are most comfortable, and there are cozy chairs available in our nursery if you would like to use them.
Changing Tables
There are changing tables in both of the bathrooms in the parish house, as well as in the nursery.
