Intentions-1568x895.png

At the Church of the Atonement, the Holy Eucharist is offered daily to the glory of God and for the benefit of his people.  The Church has taught from ancient times that the faithful may request that a Mass be celebrated for a particular Mass intention, such as:

  • the repose of the soul of someone who has died

  • the healing or wellbeing of someone who is ill

  • an occasion of thanksgiving (e.g., a birthday, anniversary, or answered prayer)

  • a special need or request (such as guidance, peace, or reconciliation)

A Mass intention allows a specific person, cause, or prayer to be named and spiritually united with the offering of Christ on the altar. It's a powerful way of joining personal prayers with the Church’s most sacred act of worship. In short, a Mass intention is a way of saying: “Lord, may the grace of this sacrifice be especially offered for this person or intention.”

If you wish to request a Mass intention, our parish offers a convenient online process:

  • Please first consult our Mass Intentions Availability Calendar below to be sure that the date you desire isn't already booked.

  • Note that service times vary throughout the week.  Click here for our mass schedule. Your Mass intention will be honored whether you are present or not.

  • Once you've found an available date that suits your needs, click the link below the calendar to complete our Mass Intention Request Form. We will send you an email confirmation once your Mass intention is officially scheduled. Submitting a request does not guarantee the date until you receive this confirmation from the parish office

  • Please submit your request at least one week in advance of the date requested.

  • There is no fee or charge for a Mass intention.  If you wish to make a donation, please click here and donate to the Rector's Directionary Fund.

Blessed, praised, hallowed, and adored

be Jesus Christ on his throne of glory in heaven,

in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar,

and in the hearts of all his faithful people.

May the souls of the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
