The Rev’d Erika L. Takacs (email) was elected as the eleventh rector of the Church of the Atonement in April of 2018. Before coming to Atonement, Mtr. Takacs served as the Associate Rector at Saint Mark’s Church, Philadelphia, where she played an integral role in the formation of programs to welcome families and children to the parish, including the celebrated Saint Mark’s Boys and Girls Choir. Since 2010, Mr. Charles Sega (email) has served as principal Organist and Director of the Atonement Choir, Schola, and the St. Cecilia Choir. During his tenure, the Atonement choir has performed over 25 orchestral masses.The three choirs keep an active repertoire of over 65 choral masses and hundreds of motets.
Dr. Christopher Windle (email) enjoys an active and diverse career as a conductor and singer while based in Chicago, IL. Currently, he is the Artistic Director of the Chicago Chamber Choir. Under his direction, the choir has been hailed as “… an ensemble to seek out in a crowded field” (Vocal Arts Chicago) and praised for their “… well-blended ensemble and polished vocalism … with the sopranos secure, soaring freely in their high-flying passages,” (Chicago Classical Review).
Charles was born in Lake Forest, IL where he was baptized at the Church of the Holy Spirit but moved as a child to the western prairie of Minnesota where he grew up in Morris, MN. Charles attended Shattuck School, an Episcopal boarding school founded by James Lloyd Breck who also help to found Nashotah House in Wisconsin.
Meghan Murphy-Gill Seminarian
Meghan is a writer, editor, and a postulant for priesthood in the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. She unknowingly harbored a call to ordained ministry as a born-and-raised Roman Catholic that only emerged once she joined the Episcopal Church, unofficially in 2014 and officially in 2015. She is a member of St. Augustine’s in Wilmette, her sponsoring parish and where she was officially received into the Episcopal Church thanks to the gentle urging of her friend and colleague.

Aaron Leonard Operations & Communications Coordinator
Aaron Leonard (he/him/his) serves as the Operations and Communications Coordinator at Church of the Atonement. In this position, Aaron manages parish contracts, coordinates with building vendors, and oversees Atonement’s digital communications. Aaron is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio where he served on the disaster relief team at Matthew 25: Ministries and worked as a volunteer coordinator at a local food pantry. Aaron is currently a graduate student at Northwestern University pursuing a master’s degree in counselling. He is here to help if you have any questions about building and parking rentals, columbarium requests, or anything related to Atonement’s online presence.
